Please during this pandemic think about supporting your small independent businesses, the big businesses can take the hit. The little shops, hair dressers & cafe shops might not. Once a small business goes under it's hard to come back please support the independents #MidlandsHour

With the economic climate looking shaken under recent circumstances (COVID 19), it has never been more important to support local businesses during times of hardship.
While larger companies have plan B, C & D in times of crisis, small, independent businesses will struggle to stay afloat without the support of their regular and new customers.
Of course, if you’re self-isolating or vulnerable and trying to stay away from the crowds – it can be difficult to know how to support your local business, or keep your regular appointment with your hairdresser or chiropodist.
One of our followers tweeted about buying vouchers for use in the future which could be a good idea. If you have any others, please share them with us using #MidlandsHour.
I couldn't agree more @MidlandsHour. I read another post that suggests buying vouchers to use at a later date which is also a good way to support them. https://t.co/3fIKr0gQDl

We know the government are looking at plans they can put in place to support people during this difficult time but, let’s remember the important message from last month after the tragic death of Caroline Flack ‘Be Kind’.
Let’s all take a moment away from the media, away from the press and away from the pandemonium that has begun. As well as checking on neighbours, keeping in touch with those in isolation and supporting the elderly, don’t forget to support our local businesses.
